Brooklyn, NY [MTA N Line] [2019]
Laminated Glass Murals [Budget 260k]
This project seeks to explore the interactions between architecture and culture, while evoking the borough of  Brooklyn’s ever present tension between permanence and transience. In the artwork, iconic foods and food practices  associated with a variety of local ethnic cultures are depicted as architectural follies.

These “follies” are created through a mash-up of the local architectural vernacular and common-place urban fixtures.  They are rendered simply yet boldly, in bright colors that are meant to generate inquiry while being playful, whimsical,  and most of all accessible.
